Ca' La Bionda is located in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico. The winery was founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani (namesake of the current owner) and is today run by the fourth generation of the family, represented by the brothers Alessandro, the winemaker, and Nicola, the winegrower.

The vineyard area covers 29 hectares of hilly land at an altitude between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, with an eastern to southeastern exposure.

Bionda always lets the soil and the Marano Valley leave their mark on the grapes and the finished wine. They only work with indigenous grape varieties and use only traditional winemaking methods.

The vineyard has been organically certified since 2016 and in 2008, together with other like-minded producers, contributed to the formation of FIVI – Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti .

FIVI represents a growing group of winegrowers who personally follow the entire winemaking process: they grow their own grapes, vinify, bottle and market their wine themselves.
