Speri – a historic family in Valpolicella

Speri is one of the historic families of Valpolicella Classico. Thanks to its unbroken traditions and strong roots in the area, it has become a point of reference in Italian wine production.

Speri's history dates back to the first half of the 19th century, and today the seventh generation of winemakers is involved. The winery manages approximately 60 hectares of vineyards in the most selected parts of Valpolicella Classico, with the Sant Urbano vineyard being the crown jewel.

The key to success has always been strong teamwork, where three generations are today involved in the entire production chain – from viticulture to bottling.

Family members Carlo, Alberto, Giampaolo, Giampietro, Laura, Chiara, Luca and Giuseppe together manage the business and ensure its quality and tradition.

In 2015, Speri obtained organic certification for its entire production after many years of sustainable farming.

Respecting their territorial heritage, the Speri family has always grown only native Valpolicella grape varieties (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and other local varieties). They produce wine exclusively from their own vineyards and supervise the entire production process themselves.
