Amarone "Ravazzol Riserva" 2013
Good and long taste! Chocolate, tobacco, soft. A really well-made wine!
GRAPE VARIETIES
70% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 10% Rondinella and Molinara.
ORIGINAL REGION
The historically "classical" zone of Valpolicella.
SOIL
The soil is a mixture of mainly clayey limestone rich in calcium, with a significant presence of stone and rock material. This type of soil gives the wines great freshness and elegance, which are crucial characteristics for long-lived wines.
VINEYARDS
The vineyards are located in a hilly area, at a varying altitude between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, with eastern and southeastern exposure.
HARVEST
The harvest usually begins in the last ten days of August and continues until the end of September.
FERMENTATION AND STORAGE
Only in rare vintages, when the climatic conditions allow for perfect ripening of the grapes while maintaining high levels of acidity – guaranteeing the wine's longevity – do we produce an Amarone Riserva from our "Ravazzol" vineyard.
The wine ferments in a 5,000-liter oak barrel with wild yeast and has 60 days of skin contact. The wine is then aged for 8 years in a 2,000-liter oak barrel.
TASTE PROFILE
The most striking thing about this wine is its elegance and finesse, qualities that only a great Amarone can express.
